About Us
We are the Hong Kong Chapter of the International League of Competition Law (Ligue Internationale du Droit de la Concurrence), an association established in 1930 and reconstituted in 1950, which focuses on the study of competition law, intellectual property law and unfair competition.
The LIDC Hong Kong Chapter (LIDC HK) will continue the mission of LIDC by serving as a local platform for fostering discussion and the exchange of views on issues and questions pertaining to competition and intellectual property law. LIDC HK is committed to promoting and contributing to the development of competition law and practice in Hong Kong.
Our members consist of leading lawyers, regulators and academics in competition and intellectual property law. We meet regularly to examine current and substantive issues arising locally in these practice areas, as well as recent international developments and their implications for local jurisprudence and practice in Hong Kong.

The next LIDC annual congress will be held in Milan from 20 to 22 October 2022. The questions that will be addressed during the Milan Congress will be:
Question A: “What role could/should sustainability goals play in competition policy and enforcement and how are competition authorities addressing this?”
Question B: “Green IP: What is the role of intellectual property in sustainability?”
In addition to participating in LIDC events internationally, LIDC HK submits report(s) on questions relating to competition law, intellectual property law or unfair competition. These reports, together with reports submitted by other national or regional chapters, are discussed during the annual congress held by the LIDC, with a view to formulating recommendations to national and international authorities on the issues debated.
